Welcome to the Scene to Song Newsletter!
Welcome to the first Scene to Song newsletter! This is just an intro to get started and introduce what I plan to include. Each month, in the first week of the month, you’ll receive this in your inbox. At the top of the email I’ll have a note from me and any announcements, notable links, etc.
In this section, I’ll highlight the episodes from the past month, usually two per month.
Next you’ll meet those episode guests with a picture and brief interview.
I then plan to include a musical of the month, something relevant to the moment, either because of current events or historical details, followed by highlights of this month in musical theater history with links to the relevant Scene to Song episodes.
Finally I will have some new musicals to look out for, including the creative team , where it’s in development, and where you can find tunes and more info. While Scene to Song mainly looks at musicals already part of the canon, I definitely want to highlight musicals in development.
Hosted by writer Shoshana Greenberg, Scene to Song brings on a guest to talk about a musical, musical theater writer, or a topic or trend in musical theater. The theme music is by Julia Meinwald.
Shoshana Greenberg is a lyricist, librettist, singer, and theater journalist. Her musicals include Days of Rage and A Story No One Knows with Hyeyoung Kim and Lightning Man with Jeffrey Dennis Smith.
